There are some aspects of security that are controlled by the user that can improve or maintain security of the authentication system.

Keep your credentials safe
Do not write down or store authentication credentials in unencrypted or plain text means.
Do not share authentication credentials with others.
Do not leave systems, including authentication devices or tokens unattended.
Do not use the same password/phrase on multiple systems. Ideally, a single-sign-on system can be used to minimize the need to maintain separate password/phrases.
